How to Improve Life at 30

Once you hit your 30s, you are no longer a young adult but simply an adult now. Now if you just turned 30, then this realization can come off as weird – even scary. Nonetheless, getting older is the one thing that you can always count on, as there is no stopping, irrespective of how hard you try.

Think about how it works – with each passing minute – you are getting older. You cannot stop the time from ticking and prevent yourself from getting older too. With that said, even though you cannot stop the aging process, you can still improve your health and lifestyle and make things better than when you were younger.

At the end of the day – it all comes down to your daily habits.

Here are a few habits that you will want to follow when it comes to having better health and a better life.

Drink More Water

The simple habit of drinking more water every day can make a tremendous difference. When you don’t drink enough water, your body gets dehydrated, and your skin loses elasticity, which then makes you look dull and dry.

Dehydration also has a serious impact on your hair – it doesn’t look as good or as nice as it ideally should. Your hair and skin look and feel unhealthy. You also tend to lose muscle mass, and your muscles might not recover as quickly from your workouts because they will be sore and dehydrated.

Besides, dehydration can also potentially increase your chances of getting a heart attack. Click here to learn more about what is heart failure and its symptoms. Lack of water tends to thicken your blood, which then constricts your blood vessels, causing a strain on the heart.

You get the point – you will want to drink more water and experience its life-changing impact. At this point, you might be wondering about the amount of fluid that you, as a healthy adult, need every day.

As an adult, you will want to consume about 3.5 liters of water daily, which makes up about fifteen cups. Ideally, you should start and finish your day by drinking a full glass of water.

Be Active

The next habit that you will want to implement in your life in your 30s is the habit of working out and living an active lifestyle. An active lifestyle is crucial if you want to be healthy in your 30s.

Once you start to work out at least five to six times a week (if not every day), you will see that it will completely change your body and feel so much better – not only physically but also mentally. You will also feel an energy spike in your 30s.

Don’t shy away from doing all sorts of exercises, including cardio, indoor exercise, and outdoor workouts.

You don’t have to follow a strict workout routine – when we say that you should work out and exercise more, what we mean is that you should stay active and get your body moving. However, it is essential to enjoy your workout sessions.

You can do whatever you want – perhaps – enjoy running on a treadmill, it could be boxing, or maybe something as simple as going on walks. If you like to do snowboarding, you will want to do that – the point is that you should enjoy your workouts.

At the end of the day – the best way to strengthen your body is by moving it every day.

Eat Better & Eat Less

Here is the thing – you can work out all you want – but – if you are not consuming healthy foods, then there is no point in working out as well. Your body won’t change until you adjust your diet and sync it with your fitness goals.

Your food intake impacts at least 60% of how your body looks and feels. The rest depends on working out and your supplement intake. Now, eating clean should be your priority. Of course, you can indulge in junk food – but not often – only on rare occasions.

You will want to consume more veggies, salads, and proteins, and most importantly, aim to eat the correct amount of food. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that you must eat everything on your plate.

You don’t have to. Some restaurants offer massive portions which are unnecessary. Believe us when we say that most people tend to overeat because they have built the habit of overeating. If you feel bad about wasting food, then you will want to plan strategically by following a meal plan.

With a meal plan, you won’t make the mistake of eating whatever you want and whenever you want – as most people do. Instead, you will have a roadmap that will allow you to eliminate waste and buy extra things when grocery shopping.

You will also know what nutrients you are taking, and you will be mindful of the portion size of your food. With that said, you will want to be mindful of the large portions of food because they add up, and before you know it – your calorie count for the day is way higher than it needs to be.

Take Care of Your Mental Health

Another habit that you will want to develop in your 30s is to prioritize your mental health. We recommend listening to audiobooks, which is also an easy way to learn new skills.

The great part of listening to audiobooks is that you can get knowledge and learn skills while you are running errands, traveling to work, going for a run, and so on. Listening to audiobooks is a great way to disconnect from social media and connect with things that matter.

When it comes to taking care of your mental health, you will want to be mindful of your sleep pattern too. You will want to integrate the habit of having good sleep hygiene, meaning you will go to bed early and rise up early the next morning.

Aim to get at least seven hours of sleep – turn off your tech gadgets at least one hour before bedtime and set the room at an ideal temperature that will help you fall asleep faster.
